Only 15 out of 2,842 individuals who booked their tourist vacation in Baguio have been approved by the Baguio Visitor Information and Travel Assistance (VISITA).

The summer capital is still cautious of letting travelers from visiting because of the possible spread of the coronavirus.

It was also mentioned by Engineer Aloysius “Alec” Mapalo, Baguio’s tourism officer, there is still an amount of 528 pending travel requests from outside Luzon and three from the United States. Yet, visitors from the Ilocos Region were prioritized.These includes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and La Union.

For planning trips to Baguio, Mayor Benjamin Magalong said that bookings can now be done directly through Baguio hotels and accommodations that are accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) and city tours will handle tours operations. 

He also noted that a negative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is still required upon entry into the border for all coming visitors.
