Today the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) together with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) are giving OFW’s the privilage of 30,000 worth of one rime assistance to theie children who are college level students.

According to DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III 30,000 students were selected to benefit with the program so called “Tabang OFW”. These are students whos parents are either displaced or deceased OFW.

CHED will be responsible to hand the 1billion budget to DOLE for the assistance program.

The CHED’s Unified Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) said they will be working with DOLE for the processing of the programs, guidelines and criteria for evaluating the beneficiaries of the program.
