Cebu Fifth District Representative Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco was elected Wednesday as Deputy Speaker of the 19th Congress of the House of Representatives.
“I am deeply honored and grateful to my colleagues in the 19th Congress led by our dynamic Speaker Martin Romualdez for their trust in electing me as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives,” said Frasco in a statement.
Frasco said he accepted this enormous responsibility with humility and optimism.
“I support the vision and plans of President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos, Jr. and I hope to help shepherd his legislative agenda in the House for the upliftment of the lives of the Filipino people,” he added.
Together with him during the oath taking at the House Plenary were his wife, Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia, fellow Deputy Speaker Raymond Democrito Mendoza and Third District Rep. Pablo John “PJ” Garcia.-(April Therese Tan)
