On Saturday Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III confirmed that the President Duterte came to a decision to allow Filipino health workers to leave and work abroad.
He mentioned that it will reach up to 5000 health workers per year are allowed to be sent abroad to work. And this deployment ban shall soon be lifted.
Health workers group Filipino Nurses United (FNU) has agreed to this and was said that this is a relief after waiting for six months.
The President said, those with complete employment documents and visa as of August 31 will be able to leave the country.
Yet, the FNU also mentioned “unless the government pays the several months of delayed salaries, absence of COVID-duty hazard pay, and special risk allowance for all the 16,746 health workers.”
