On an interview with ABS-CBN News, the Health Undersecretary Rosario Vergeire was asked if the mentioned vaccines will help in preventing any complications from COVID-19, since vaccines against the virus have yet to be finalized and made available to the public.
“We agree with that. Actually, we have this program for children and the elderly.”
“It can help you kasi para hindi nagkakaron ng additional complication yung mga mayroong may Covid19.Yung mga nagpapa-flu vaccine or pneumonia vaccine, we do not advice against it. We even recommend it because we have that program as well” she added.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), most of the COVID-19 patients have the same symptoms as influenza or flu patients such as fever, cough, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, body aches, headaches and fatigue.
Meanwhile, as of Wednesday, there are already a total of 58,850 cases adding 1,392 late reported cases. With 20,976 recovered patients and 1,614 deaths.
