Customers within the franchise area of the Visayan Electric will be paying 0.07 kilowatt per hour (kwh) less of its generation rates starting this September to October billing period.
VECO said that from P12.02 kwh in billing period August to September, now it will be P11.95 kwh in the September to October billing period.
According Raul Lucero, VECO’s president and chief operating officer, that the slight drop in the generation rates for the current billing period was due to the low power rates at the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM).
VECO meanwhile, has started disconnecting customers who have at least two months unpaid outstanding balances last September 8, 2021 after the cities and municipalities in its franchise area were declared under General Community Quarantine.
It added that customers who want to apply for payment arrangements for customers of good standing may visit any of their service centers located in One Pavilion Mall in Banawa, JCentre Mall in Mandaue City, Piazza Elisea in Talamban, Glajj Building in Consolacion and at the South Extension Office in Tabunok, Talisay City.
