The government is set to launch “Enhanced” nutribun for Filipinos to meet their needed nutrients intake amid Pandemic. It is reformulated to contain more nutrients.

According to the director of Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (FNRI-DOST) Mario Capanzana, “We included more protein that’s why it’s an enhanced nutribun. It’s softer with just the right micro and macronutrients we need.”

The said project is planning to create partnership with big bakeshops and Micro-bakeshops to help in production of the “enhanced” Nutribun. The e-nutribun is estimated to cost 6 pesos for up to 100 grams.

The program seeks to distribute with the help from social welfare department. It’s also considering breastfeeding mothers to be included as beneficiary of the program.
