Manila Ordinance No. 8694 was passed today, aiming protection for the LGBTQI community. It aims to eliminate discrimination in any forms against the said community.
The ordinance laid out 12 key points that constitutes discrimination among job and other opportunities on the basis of SOGIE.
In line with this, all barangays were ordered to establish gender-neutral toilets within 3 years after the passage of the ordinance.
Mayor of Manila, Isko thanked several LGBTQI groups who helped to craft the city ordinance.
