On August 4, Metro Manila and other nearby provinces such as Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite and Rizal were placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) as a response for the health workers’ call for a break, according to President Rodrigo Duterte.

The Office of the Vice President took this opportunity to bring back the previous shuttle service on all eight routes in March and April when Metro Manila was under an enhanced community quarantine, providing transportation for frontliners to give out needed services.

The shuttle service was returned after authorities made an announcement that public transportation would be suspended.

“The Office of the Vice President has resumed its free shuttle service for health workers and other frontliners. The initiative will run from August 4 until August 18, covering the 15-day MECQ period.” OVP stated.
