GMA-7 released a nearly 6-minute-long trailer for the highly anticipated live adaptation of the Japanese anime “Voltes V: Legacy” immediately following GMA-7’s New Year countdown show on December 31 and it received favorable feedback from viewers.

According to PhilStar, teasers for the release of the “Voltes V: Legacy” trailer were received with doubt and “haha” reactions days before it aired.

The nearly 6-minute trailer includes the clips that have been teased for nearly two years and more. Aside from Camp Big Falcon, Boazanian Prince Zardoz’s invading fleet, and Voltes V himself, the trailer also provided a glimpse into the world of the alien planet Boazan.

“Despite the CGI, it’s more like Pacific Rim (a little bit!) or a modern Ultraman-vibe pagdating sa fighting scenes ni Voltes V. Nevertheless, I can’t wait,” he added.

According to the fan, in addition to live action, the actors portray and act on the characters in the animated series. Only die-hard fans and those born in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s can comprehend and enjoy the series.

“Despite the CGI, it’s more like Pacific Rim (a little bit!) or a modern Ultraman-vibe pagdating sa fighting scenes ni Voltes V. Nevertheless, I can’t wait,“ he added.

Here’s what other YouTube users had to say about the trailer:

“Wow, GMA, thank you for putting Voltes V to life! Hindi tinipid, pinag-isipan talaga. Kudos to everyone. Galing nyo, can’t wait to watch this!”

“I remember a lot of netizens mocking this show because of its lengthy release date, eh sa full trailer nato, nagets na namin lahat why it had to take so long. Pinaghirapan. Pinag gastusan at pinga-isipan. I’m sure this show is worth the wait.”

“Pinagisipan, pinaghirapan, pinagkakagastusan. This is a HUGE milestone for the Philippine entertainment industry. Kudos GMA!”

“This exceeds my expectations! Congratulations in advance, Voltes 5 Team!”

“Ang ganda! Ang laki ng pinagbago ng effects! Capable na tayo ng ganito! Sana mas marami pang ganito ang maproduce ng Pilipinas.”

“At first I wasn’t enthusiastic about it when it was announced that there will be a live version of V5.  Because of some factors. I want the effects to be really impressive and the CGI wasn’t hastily done. But when I watched the trailer, I was blown away. Impressive!  The costume was on point, and the effect was perfectly done. Awesome!

Meanwhile, the premiere date for “Voltes V: Legacy” has yet to be confirmed by GMA-7, which previously stated that the show would premiere in the second quarter of the year. (Photo: Screengrab from GMA7 YouTube)
