Cebu now has one million fully vaccinated Cebuanos, the Visayas COVID-19 Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC) reported.

VVOC said that as of Monday, October 4, 2021, fully vaccinated individuals in Cebu has reached 1,000,608, while 1,128,722 individuals in Cebu were inoculated with the first dose.

Secretary Michael Lloyd Dino, Presidential Assistant for the Visayas, welcomed this development even as he urged others to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

“This milestone is a step towards Cebu’s economic recovery,” Dino said in a statement released by OPAV.

Dino added that by getting vaccinated, one can help prepare Cebu for the new normal.

According to the VVOC report, a total of 2,129,330 doses have already been administered in Cebu.

The entire Cebu Island targetted to inoculate between 3.5 million to 3.6 million eligible population, which means only about 30 percent to 35 percent of the eligible population has been fully vaccinated. (By: April Therese Tan)
