Pampanga is currently tagged as a low-risk area for COVID-19 infection. Still, Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda requested the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases for an extension of the modified general community quarantine (MGCQ). Pineda implored IATF for MGCQ to be extended until July 15.
Pampanga has 133 COVID-19 cases which includes the two newly reported ones on Monday, June 29.
According to Pineda, these cases pertain to two seamen who shared a meal together while waiting for the results of their tests. As one turned out positive, the other got infected because of the meal sharing.
