On Friday the Philippine Governement together with local private companies will sign a tripartite agreement along with the British drugmaker Aztrazeneca for the purchase of the Covid19 vaccine.
Country’s vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said the agreement is for the purpose of buying 12 twelve million worth of vaccine from Aztrazeneca which was said to be a 90% effective vaccine.
It was also mentioned that Aztra Zeneca vaccines are cheaper to produce and easire to distribute that the other vaccine manufacturers.
The target is to achieve a herd immunity counting 60 million filipinos in order to limit the transmission of the virus.
In line with this news, Galcez said aside from Aztrazeneca, the government is also communicating with Pfizer’s and China’s Sinovac.
