On Thursday during a Palace press briefing Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque claimed that the government did not make any news prohibiting senior citizens to leave their houses to buy their necessities and do essential activities.

He mentioned that it is odd for the Inter Agency Task Force for the Management of Infectious Diseases to approve regulations for not allowing senior citizens to enter malls and groceries.

The IATF imposed a community quarantine rule where ages 21 below and 60 above who are capable of health risk including pregnant women are asked to stay at home.

Yet, according to the National Commission of Senior Citizens Chair Franklin Quijano requested to disregard the senior citizen’s  two-hour window on malls and groceries after complaints. Here he seeks for the local government units to allow older citizens to shop for their essentials.
