On Thursday, the Philippines has recorded over 2,000 new additional cases of Covid-19 , thus breaching the 60,000 estimation from researchers of University of the Philippines. 

Based from the results of 71 different laboratory findings, the 2,498 additional cases, has been the 2nd highest since the start of the pandemic. With the total number of cases at 61,266 with 38,183 active cases.

It was announced last June by the UP OCTA research group that it will hit 60,000 cases by the end of July with regards to the current state of the country and it’s possibilities in hitting the spot mid month. 

The DOH said, “The total cases reported may be subject to change as these numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation,”
