Jocelyn Cubales, a remarkable 69-year-old woman, is among the contestants vying for the Miss Universe Philippines – Quezon City crown. Her participation in the pageant is notable, especially since the Miss Universe Organization removed the age limit for its candidates in September of the previous year, a move that was welcomed for promoting greater inclusivity and representation.

Cubales, who previously represented South Asia in Mrs. Universe 2017, is competing alongside 14 other queens from Quezon City. She believes that her life experiences, particularly her grit, can be a source of learning for the younger generation. The grand coronation night of Miss Universe Philippines – Quezon City is set for February 5.

This development signifies a positive shift towards more inclusive beauty standards and the breaking of age barriers in beauty pageants. It highlights the idea that beauty, confidence, and the ability to inspire transcend age.
