The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has announced the extension of flight restrictions in areas surrounding Bulusan, Kanlaon, and Taal volcanoes until October 15.
In an advisory, CAAP said the flight ban will remain in place to ensure the safety of air travel, as volcanic activities in these areas continue to pose risks. The agency reminded pilots to avoid flying close to active volcanoes due to the potential hazards of ash clouds, which can damage aircraft engines and affect visibility.
The CAAP continues to coordinate with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) for regular updates on volcanic activity. Travelers are also advised to check with their airlines for any flight changes or cancellations that may result from the ongoing restrictions.
