Actress and comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto announced on Friday that her legal troubles linked to an investment scam case have officially ended.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Rufa Mae posted a glamorous video expressing gratitude to those who stood by her. “Thank you to everyone who believed in me. The case is over! I’m free and alive! I love you all—time to move on,” she wrote.
Rufa Mae had been facing 14 counts of violating Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code, which prohibits the unregistered sale of securities. The charges were tied to her alleged involvement with Dermacare, a business under scrutiny earlier this year.
After a warrant was issued, she voluntarily surrendered to the NBI and posted bail amounting to ₱1.7 million, firmly denying any wrongdoing.
The controversy was further complicated when scammers impersonated her to solicit ₱45,000 for supposed bail expenses. Rufa Mae publicly denounced the scheme and warned followers against fraud using her name.
Now cleared, she has shifted her focus to moving forward and leaving the ordeal behind.
