In the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) senatorial preference survey commissioned by Stratbase Group, ten out of the twelve candidates backed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ranked among the top choices for the 2025 Senate race.

The survey, conducted from September 14 to 23 with 1,500 respondents nationwide, revealed that House Deputy Majority Leader Erwin Tulfo maintained his lead, with 54% of voters indicating they would vote for him.

Following Tulfo, former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III secured second place with 34%, improving by two spots since the March 2024 survey. Senator Pia Cayetano ranked third with 31%.

Tied in fourth and fifth place were former President Rodrigo Duterte and re-electionist Senator Imee Marcos, both with 25%. Duterte’s rating dropped from 36% in March, while Marcos’ support increased from 22%.

Former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and re-electionist Senator Bong Revilla Jr. shared the sixth and seventh spots with 24%, both improving their ranks since the previous survey.

Rep. Camille Villar surged to eighth place, labeled the “biggest gainer,” as she rose from the 20th-24th range in March to the top 12 with 21%.

Makati Mayor Abigail Binay and re-electionist Senator Lito Lapid tied for the ninth to tenth spot with 20% each.

Meanwhile, former Senator Manny Pacquiao, Senator Bong Go, and Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa ranked 11th to 13th, each with 18%. Both Go and Dela Rosa saw dips in voter preference since March.

Senators Francis Tolentino and Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr., also backed by the administration, missed the top 12, ranking 14th and 16th-17th, respectively. Former Senators Francis Pangilinan and Bam Aquino also fell short, with Pangilinan placing 15th and Aquino tying with Abalos for the 16th-17th spot.

The survey has a sampling error margin of ±2.5% for national figures and higher margins for regional breakdowns.
