Nearly one million people across Luzon and nearby regions have been evacuated in advance of Typhoon Uwan’s landfall.

Authorities report that evacuees include approximately 916,863 individuals from over 270,000 families, with the Bicol region being the hardest-hit area. Local government units are operating evacuation centres, mobilising rescue teams, and enforcing travel restrictions as Uwan’s outer bands bring heavy rains and strong winds. Residents are advised to follow official advisories, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay in safe shelters until it is safe.
