ILOILO – A jeep carrying over 60 excursionists, many of them children, crashed on Black Saturday morning in Miag-ao, Iloilo, en route to a beach resort in nearby San Joaquin.
According to early reports from GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas, the vehicle was overloaded with beachgoers looking to enjoy the Holy Week break when the accident occurred.
Emergency responders quickly brought most of the injured passengers to the district hospital in Guimbal for medical attention. The exact number of injuries and the cause of the crash are still under investigation.
The incident cast a shadow over what was meant to be a day of leisure for the affected families.
