Pura Luka Vega, a well-known drag artist, has regained her freedom after posting bail. She was re-arrested due to charges stemming from her controversial “Ama Namin” performance last year. According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Drag Den Philippines director Rod Singh on Friday afternoon, the bail money was arranged with the help of “kind-hearted individuals who offered loans.”
“Our fundraising efforts continue as the amount raised for the bail is still insufficient, but thankfully, there were kind-hearted individuals who offered loans,” Singh stated.
Luka was arrested on Thursday by authorities after a Quezon City court issued an arrest warrant for “three counts of the same crime.”

Singh previously posted that the recommended bail for Luka was set at P360,000.
“Luka will return to work to cover her legal expenses. You can watch her perform again at the finale concert of Drag Den S2 at Newport Resorts World this Thursday,” Singh added.
Luka faces charges for violating Article 201 (immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions, and indecent shows) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
In October 2023, Luka was initially arrested under a Pasay City court’s arrest warrant following complaints about her controversial and viral “Ama Namin” performance posted on social media in July 2023.
