Government employees will receive their year-end bonuses and cash gifts sooner than usual, with payments scheduled for the first payroll of November, according to the Department of Budget and Management (DBM). Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman announced that the early release, outlined in Budget Circular 2024-3, will expedite the disbursement process, aiming to boost employee morale and satisfaction.
The new circular amends the previous rule, which scheduled these payments no earlier than November 15. Qualified government personnel will now receive a year-end bonus equal to their basic pay as of October 31, along with a PHP 5,000 cash gift, in the first November payroll.
Secretary Pangandaman explained, “We want to ensure timely bonuses so employees can enjoy the holidays and feel motivated to continue delivering quality public service.” She also noted that streamlining the payroll process across agencies will improve productivity and prevent delays, ultimately promoting efficiency and transparency under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s administration.
The directive covers all national government agencies, state universities and colleges, government-owned corporations, and local government units, taking effect immediately.
