Weightlifting icon Hidilyn Diaz is set to join the elite ranks of the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Hall of Fame during its annual Awards Night on January 27.

Diaz’s historic achievements, including her groundbreaking gold-medal win at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics, have cemented her legacy in Philippine sports. In addition to her Olympic triumphs, Diaz has also clinched titles in various international weightlifting tournaments, solidifying her place as one of the country’s greatest athletes.

The 33-year-old pride of Zamboanga has been honored as PSA Athlete of the Year four times (2016, 2018, 2021, 2022). With her induction, Diaz joins a prestigious roster of sports legends, including Manny Pacquiao, Paeng Nepomuceno, Bong Coo, Eugene Torre, Efren ‘Bata’ Reyes, Florencio Campomanes, and Lydia De Vega.
