A Heartfelt Journey to Marriage
Days after their beautiful wedding in Tagaytay, Nash Aguas and Mika Dela Cruz reflected on their emotional journey to becoming husband and wife. The actor-politician expressed his gratitude to God for allowing him to fall in love with Dela Cruz not once, but three times throughout their lives.
Their Special Day
In a video uploaded on Mika Dela Cruz’s Facebook page on May 22, the couple revisited their special day at Adriano’s Event Place and Prayer Garden in Tagaytay. Among the highlights were the couple’s heartfelt wedding vows.
“Thank you, God, for allowing me to fall in love with such an amazing woman — not once, not twice, but three times through this lifetime,” Aguas said. He reminisced about their first meeting in May 2007 and how he always wanted to be close to Dela Cruz.
“Whether it be carrying her bag, going on out-of-the-country tapings, or putting a band-aid on your wounds smaller than an ant just so we can have a moment together,” he recalled. “I didn’t know it back then but looking back, it was more than just a crush.”
The Three Times of Falling in Love
Aguas shared that the “second time” he fell for Dela Cruz was in 2018 when they started dating. They were a perfect match but faced challenges because they didn’t keep God at the center of their relationship. “Simple conversations turned into misunderstandings, which turned into problems. With all my might, I tried to make you happy but then I failed,” he admitted. He prayed for clarity, and three days later, they broke up.
Their love story didn’t end there. The couple found their way back to each other, which Aguas described as his “third time” falling in love, with a clear message from God that they were meant to be together. “I will promise you joy even through suffering. I will promise you peace in all circumstances and I promise to always point you back to Him whenever it seems hard. And I promise to love you even if you don’t anymore because that’s how He loves me. I love you,” he vowed.
Mika’s Perspective
Mika Dela Cruz also shared her deep feelings and gratitude. She always believed she would marry Aguas, and she thanked God for allowing their paths to cross in 2007. “Now we’re here, May 2024. After 17 years, we’re finally one,” she said. She reminisced about their early days, with Aguas carrying her bag during “Goin’ Bulilit’s” out-of-the-country tapings and how their relationship evolved into marriage.
“You are my first crush and my last love. I love you, love, so, so, so much. This is the start of our life together, our forever and I’m so blessed to be your Mrs. Victoriano,” she expressed, using Aguas’ real surname.
The Wedding Ceremony
Aguas and Dela Cruz tied the knot on May 18 in an intimate ceremony attended by their loved ones and close friends. The couple’s journey, marked by faith, perseverance, and deep love, culminated in a beautiful celebration of their union.
