ANGONO, Rizal — Anti-narcotics agents seized approximately ₱680,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested an alleged high-value drug personality during an early morning buy-bust operation on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
The joint operation, conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Rizal and local police, took place at around 6:45 a.m. in Barangay San Isidro, Angono.
Authorities identified the suspect by the alias “Abex,” a 32-year-old resident of the village where the sting occurred.
- The Sting: An undercover agent successfully purchased a sachet of suspected shabu from the suspect, leading to his immediate apprehension.
- Seized Evidence: Following the arrest, operatives recovered approximately 100 grams of white crystalline substance believed to be methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu).
- Valuation: The seized drugs have a street value estimated at ₱680,000 based on current Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) benchmarks.
PDEA Region IV-A Director Ronald Allan DG Ricardo confirmed that “Abex” is classified as a High-Value Individual (HVI). This classification is reserved for suspects believed to be significant drug traffickers, financiers, or members of organized criminal groups.
“This successful operation underscores our relentless commitment to protect communities and hold accountable those who continue to profit from illegal drugs,” Director Ricardo stated.
The suspect is currently in PDEA custody as investigators work to trace his supply chain and identify potential accomplices in the Rizal area. “Abex” faces formal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (Republic Act 9165).
This arrest is part of an intensified regional crackdown on large-scale drug distribution networks in the CALABARZON region, which has seen several major hauls in the first quarter of 2026.
