Pablo, the leader of the popular Filipino boy band SB19, recently shared his surprise at being offered a coaching role on “The Voice Kids Philippines.” Despite the unexpected invitation, Pablo decided to accept the opportunity, joining his fellow band member Stell, who is already a coach on the show.
During a media conference on Wednesday, Pablo explained his reasons for saying yes to the offer. “For me, I was really interested because I’m at a point in my life where I want to share the knowledge I’ve gained, especially from performing with SB19 for nearly seven years,” he said. “I also love producing, so this felt like the right opportunity for me.”
Pablo further elaborated that he carefully considered the offer before deciding to seize the chance to impart what he has learned over the years. “When they asked me if I wanted to be a coach on ‘The Voice Kids,’ I thought about it seriously, but then I said, ‘I should grab this opportunity to share what I’ve learned over the past years,'” he added.
Pablo will join Stell and Julie Anne San Jose, who announced his new role during their concert in July. The show had earlier teased its audience with a glimpse of a “superstar coach,” showing a photo of Pablo from behind, revealing only his ear and hand.
In addition to Stell, Julie Anne, and Pablo, the coaching panel will also include Billy Crawford, who previously coached on “The Voice Generations” last year.
“The Voice Kids Philippines” is set to air starting September 15.
