A P10-million reward, offered by “friends” back in July for information leading to the arrest of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, now hangs in the balance following his apprehension in Davao City. Along with this, P1 million had been pledged for information on each of his co-accused.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos announced the arrest on Sunday, sharing a photo of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader alongside his lawyer Israelito Torreon on Facebook. “Nahuli na si Pastor Quiboloy!” he posted.

Authorities reported that Quiboloy was captured at 6 p.m. inside the KOJC compound in Davao City, after an extensive search by police since August 24. Eastern Mindanao Commander Lieutenant General Luis Bergante confirmed Quiboloy’s surrender to the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP).

While Abalos noted that Quiboloy’s arrest was a coordinated effort between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), he said the decision regarding the P10-million reward is now in the hands of the PNP and those who originally offered the bounty.
