MANILA, Philippines – About 10.4 kilograms of shabu was seized by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local authorities in Eastern Visayas from a suspect passing through Northern Samar on Monday, January 30.

According to PDEA regional information officer Rogelette Urgel, Manguyaw Mitumara, a 40-year-old suspect, was passing through Northern Samar heading to Marawi City when a checkpoint head off his vehicle the said date.

The suspect, who went from Luzon, was found not wearing his seatbelt during the checkpoint, based on a report from regional headquarters in Palo Leyte.

Mitumara’s car was inspected by the authorities after he confessed that his car was loaded by illegal drugs.

Inside his car’s trunk, the police found the said illegal drugs worth P69 million.

The suspect did not hold out against the arrest.

Mitumara would face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to Urgel.
