The Manila City government will continue to provide cash incentives to city barangays without COVID-19 case recorded for two months.

On Monday, millions of pesos were given to barangays that recorded zero cases from September 1 to October 31.

Out of 900 barangays in the city, only 73 had zero covid cases in two months.

According to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, if there are no new COVID-19 cases in the barangay from December 1 to January 31 next year, the barangay will receive P100,000.

He said this is to encourage the barangays to be more vigilant especially Christmas is about to come.

There are currently 508 active COVID-19 cases in the city.
