Qatar Airways announced that it will be resuming its flights to and from Doha, Qatar, and Davao City, by tomorrow, April 1, three years after its last service in 2020.
The airline company revealed this during the ITB (Internationale Tourismus Börse) Berlin 2023 tourism fair in Germany earlier this month.
Davao City is one of the 11 destinations where Qatar Airways will resume its flights. The other 10 are Beijing, China; Birmingham, United Kingdom; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Casablanca and Marrakesh, Morocco; Nice, France; Haneda Airport in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan; Phnom Penh, Cambodia; and Ras Al-Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.
Beginning tomorrow, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner passenger plane designated as Flight QR-936 will fly every Saturday.
Flight QR-936 will depart from Doha, Qatar at 3:05 AM PST (Philippine Standard Time), and is expected to arrive at Mactan-Cebu International Airport at 5:55 PM PST for a 90-minute stopover.
The plane will depart from Cebu at 7:25 PM PST and is expected to arrive at the Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao City at 8:30 PM PST.
For the final leg of the flight, the plane will depart from Davao at 10:30 PM PST and is expected to return to Qatar at 3:55 AM PST the next day.
The Davao-Doha weekly flights were launched on June 18, 2019, but were operated back then at the Clark International Airport in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
The airline’s decision to resume direct flights to Davao demonstrates its confidence in the city’s economic potential as well as its commitment to providing passengers with more travel options.
