Boxing icon Mike Tyson said he had no regrets stepping into the ring for what he calls his final fight, despite losing to social media star-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a unanimous decision. The bout, held Friday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, showcased the 58-year-old Tyson facing off against the 27-year-old Paul.

While fans expressed disappointment as the former heavyweight champion struggled to keep up with his younger opponent, Tyson shared that the experience was deeply meaningful.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in the ring one last time,” Tyson wrote on X.

The match was initially scheduled for July but was postponed after Tyson suffered a severe health scare involving an ulcer flare-up in June. He revealed that the ordeal nearly cost him his life.

“I almost died in June. Had eight blood transfusions, lost half my blood, and 25 lbs (11 kg) in hospital. I had to fight to get healthy to fight, so I won,” Tyson shared.

He also expressed pride in completing all eight rounds against a fighter half his age. “To have my children see me stand toe-to-toe and finish eight rounds in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”

The fight, streamed live on Netflix, faced technical issues that disrupted service for more than 90,000 users during the event’s peak. The outage lasted approximately six hours in the U.S. before being resolved on Saturday.
