
MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has summoned vlogger and social media personality Jack Argota to appear before its office on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, in connection with the spread of falsified medical records of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
The summons is part of an ongoing investigation by the NBI Cybercrime Division into the circulation of a report claiming the President suffers from “severe sigmoid diverticulitis” requiring urgent surgery.
Investigation Details
- Jack Argota: Argota was initially scheduled to appear on Friday, Feb. 13, but requested a “resetting” of the meeting via email. The NBI confirmed the new date is set for this Wednesday.
- Jay Sonza: NBI spokesperson Palmer Mallari confirmed that social media personality Jay Sonza is also under investigation, with the first formal filing in this probe already directed at him.
- Broad Scope: The NBI is continuing its “second phase” of the investigation to identify other individuals involved in the production and dissemination of the fake document.

- St. Luke’s Medical Center: The hospital whose logo was featured on the viral document has officially denied the accuracy and authenticity of the report, tagging it as “fake and falsified.”
- Presidential Communications Office (PCO): The PCO issued a warning to the public, asserting that President Marcos is “fully capable of performing his duties.” The office clarified that the circulating medical report is a complete fabrication intended to cause public concern.
