The Philippine National Railways (PNR) is all set to resume operations on the Naga-Legazpi route starting December 27. This marks a significant development, as the route had been inactive for six years due to a shortage of train coaches and locomotives. The service will include four daily trips connecting Naga City in Camarines Sur with Legazpi City in Albay, and vice versa.

Passengers on this route will experience a picturesque journey, as the 100+ kilometer track passes through the Kidaco Bridge in Daraga, Albay, offering a stunning view of the symmetrical Mayon Volcano, often referred to as the “perfect cone.” The reopening will also see the inauguration of three new stations at Travesia, Daraga, and Legazpi.

Additionally, the route will have stops at Naga, Pili, Iriga, Polangui, and Ligao Stations, with eight flag stops at Baao, Lourdes, Bat, Matacon, Oas, Bagtang, Washington Drive, and Capantawan. The fare for this journey will range from P15 to P155, with discounts available for senior citizens, students, and persons with disabilities upon presenting valid identification.

The revival of this route is a significant step in enhancing regional connectivity and offering an enjoyable travel experience to passengers in the Philippines.
