Fred VanVleet poured in 29 points and Alperen Sengun notched a double-double as the Houston Rockets powered past the Golden State Warriors, 115-107, on the road in Game 6 of their first-round Western Conference playoff series on Friday. The win sets up a decisive Game 7 in Houston on Sunday.

After dominating Game 5 at home, the Rockets carried their momentum into Chase Center. They turned a tight contest into a statement victory by clamping down defensively in the fourth quarter. VanVleet opened the final frame with a four-point play, extending Houston’s lead to 90-84. The Warriors unraveled, missing 13 straight shots as the Rockets surged ahead on a 12-0 run.

Sengun delivered a standout all-around effort with 21 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, and three steals. VanVleet also filled the stat sheet with eight rebounds, eight assists, six made threes, and a perfect 9-of-9 from the free-throw line. Amen Thompson added 14 points, while Steven Adams provided a strong boost off the bench with 17 points and three blocks.

Despite 29 points from Stephen Curry and 27 from Jimmy Butler, the Warriors faltered down the stretch, finishing with 41.1% shooting and 34 missed three-pointers. The game featured early fireworks, including 10 lead changes and a flagrant foul on Draymond Green, but it was the Rockets who maintained their composure to force a Game 7.
