A total of 16 cadavers were found stored inside an abandoned building in Basak-San Nicolas, Cebu City on Tuesday.
Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak said that some of the cadavers, three of which reportedly died due to COVID-19, were found inside a freezer while some on the floor.
Cebu City Emergency Operations Center will meet with the owners of the funeral parlors and officials of the City Health Office to address this matter, as COVID-19 cases in the city continue to spike.
Based on the data from the Department of Health-7 from August 1 to 17, Cebu City has already 153 deaths with 4,274 active cases.
