Talisay City, Cebu – A motorcycle rider and his passenger sustained injuries after colliding with a stray dog crossing the road in Talisay City, Cebu. The incident, captured on CCTV, occurred when several motorists managed to avoid the animal, but one motorcycle failed to do so, as reported by GMA Regional TV’s Jeric Pasiliao in Saksi on Friday.

The collision resulted in the helmets of both the rider and passenger being thrown off due to the impact, while the dog managed to run away unscathed, as seen in the footage.

Following the incident, local traffic authorities have intensified their calls for action on managing stray dogs, emphasizing the dangers these animals pose on major roads. Joy Tumulak, chief of the City of Talisay Traffic Operations and Development Authority, urged local veterinarians to address the issue, citing the difficulty motorists face in spotting animals on highways, particularly at night.

This incident highlights a growing concern in urban areas across the Philippines, where stray animals frequently lead to accidents, raising questions about road safety measures and animal welfare management.
