MANILA, Philippines — A total of 5,594 examinees successfully passed the 2025 Philippine Bar Examinations, the Supreme Court announced on Wednesday, marking a nearly 49 percent passing rate for one of the country’s most demanding professional licensure tests.

The Supreme Court, through Bar Exam Chairperson Associate Justice Amy Lazaro‑Javier, said the figure represents 48.98 percent of the 11,420 examinees who finished all three days of testing held last September 7, 10, and 14, 2025. More than 13,000 applicants initially registered for this year’s exams, the highest turnout in the history of the Bar examinations.

This year’s passing rate shows a significant increase from 2024, when only around 37.84 percent of examinees succeeded, and is reportedly the second‑highest national passing rate in nearly a decade.

Among the topnotchers, Jhenroniel Rhey Timola Sanchez from the University of the Philippines topped the 2025 Bar with an impressive 92.70 percent average score, followed closely by other high‑scoring candidates from esteemed law schools across the country.

The Supreme Court has scheduled the oath‑taking and signing of the Roll of Attorneys for February 6, 2026 at the Philippine Arena, where the new lawyers will officially be admitted to the legal profession.
