A tragic fire in Tondo, Manila, claimed six lives early Sunday morning, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). The blaze broke out at 3:50 a.m. on the second floor of a four-storey home located at Camba Street corner Ariaran Street, Barangay 25.
Four adults and two children, who were asleep when the fire started, were unable to escape. One child managed to jump out of the burning house and was rushed to the Philippine General Hospital with serious injuries, as reported by Barangay 25 chairman Obet Tolentino.
The fire, believed to have been caused by an electrical issue, was extinguished by 5:14 a.m. No other nearby homes were affected, and the BFP’s investigation is ongoing.
