Janno Gibbs, a renowned singer and actor, has shared his intentions to scatter some of the ashes of his late father, the celebrated actor Ronaldo Valdez, in Baguio City, a location dearly loved by his father. This heartfelt gesture is a tribute to Ronaldo’s dream of residing in Baguio, expressing his fondness for the city with words like, “I really want to live in Baguio. I’ll only come back for work.”

The cremains are currently with Janno’s sister, Melissa, and the family plans to hold a private mass on Ronaldo’s 40th day. The family had previously held a two-night wake for Ronaldo at the Loyola Memorial Chapels and Crematorium in Makati City, which was attended exclusively by close friends and family members who sought permission.

Ronaldo Valdez, who passed away on December 17 at the age of 76, was one of the Philippines’ most revered actors, known for his impactful roles in TV and film. His passing led to a significant incident where a leaked video showing his body resulted in the Quezon City Police Department apologizing to the Gibbs family and the relief of several police personnel from their duties.

Janno also mentioned a note left by Ronaldo before his death, in which he requested no viewing at his wake. This note, initially posted on Ronaldo’s Facebook, was later removed by Janno for its sensitive nature. Respecting his father’s wishes, the family opted for a more private commemoration.

In a recent media conference, Janno and his family sought a public apology from the police over the leaked video, emphasizing the importance of privacy and respect during such personal times.
