Albie Casiño remains unapologetic about his decision not to attend the wake of Jaclyn Jose, expressing that he was unaffected by her passing and felt his presence might not be welcome. The actress, Jaclyn Jose, who passed away from a heart attack on March 3, was the mother of Casiño’s former girlfriend, Andi Eigenmann. Jose was celebrated for her contribution to cinema, notably becoming the first Filipina to win Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016.
During a press conference for his latest film, “Kasalo,” Casiño responded to a question about his absence at the wake by stating he was “not affected” by Jose’s death, sparking a flurry of media attention. He elaborated on these remarks at a subsequent media event for “Can’t Buy Me Love,” affirming his stance and indifference to public opinion on the matter.
Casiño emphasized his commitment to honesty, regardless of potential backlash, expressing disinterest in the criticisms that might come from online platforms. “Why would I care about what somebody has to say on the internet? If I want your opinion, I’ll ask for it,” he remarked, highlighting his disregard for unsolicited judgments.
His candidness comes after a history of personal controversies, including a paternity dispute with Eigenmann in 2011, which was later resolved identifying Jake Ejercito as the father of Eigenmann’s child. Casiño’s forthright attitude in discussing his personal decisions regarding Jose’s death reflects his broader approach to handling public scrutiny and personal relationships within the entertainment industry.
