Alden Richards, celebrated as Asia’s Multimedia Star and a Box Office King, reminisced about his early days in pageantry on Friday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” Before stepping into showbiz 13 years ago, Richards participated in three pageants: Mister and Miss Intramurals at Paco Catholic School in 2008, Ginoong Santa Rosa in 2009, and Ginoong Laguna in 2010, winning all three.

Playfully recounting his surprise victories, Richards shared, “Gulat nga po ako eh,” with host Tito Boy.

Demonstrating his pageant prowess, Richards showcased his question and answer skills, revisiting a question from the Ginoong Santa Rosa Q&A portion: “Do you think that joining pageants such as Ginoong Santa Rosa is a form of exploitation to the youth?”

Effortlessly, he responded, “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I don’t believe that joining pageants is a form of exploitation because these kinds of events harness the youth to become themselves and to reach their dreams in all sorts of ways, and I do like to think this is a steppingstone for them to achieve their dreams in the future.”

Richards also delighted the audience by demonstrating his pageant walk for casual wear, complete with charming and smoldering looks.

During the program, Richards also touched on the status of his love life and upcoming projects. He is set to star in the historical drama “Pulang Araw” alongside Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, and Dennis Trillo. Written by Suzette Doctolero and directed by Dominic Zapata, “Pulang Araw” will premiere on Netflix this Friday and on television on July 29.

Additionally, Richards will travel to Canada to film “Hello, Love, Again,” the sequel to his blockbuster film “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” with Kathryn Bernardo. The sequel, continuing the story of OFWs Ethan (Richards) and Joy (Bernardo), is slated for release in Philippine cinemas on November 13. This film marks the first collaboration between GMA Pictures and Star Cinema.
