Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was formally handed over to Philippine officials by Indonesian authorities in Jakarta on Thursday afternoon. Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Rommel Marbil personally received Guo during the turnover.

Guo had been placed on the immigration lookout bulletin amid investigations into her identity as a supposed Chinese national and her involvement in illegal activities linked to a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) in Bamban.

Prior to the handover, Secretary Abalos informed reporters that a deportation proceeding and negotiation had taken place with Indonesian officials to facilitate Guo’s return. “Our talks with the Indonesian officials have ended. Of course, with their police forces and generals. We have discussed the necessary matters,” Abalos stated.

Abalos added, “We’ll get Alice. The papers are being processed, and we will bring her back to the Philippines.”

Upon entering the room, Guo greeted Secretary Abalos with a handshake, saying, “Hi [Secretary].” She was seen wearing a black and white striped shirt, a long black skirt, a black face mask, and eyeglasses, while carrying a brown bag.

The flight returning Guo to the Philippines was scheduled around 6 p.m. or earlier. According to a DILG advisory, Abalos, Marbil, and Guo were expected to arrive in the Philippines around 8:30 p.m.

PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo stated that upon her arrival in the Philippines, Guo would be transported to Camp Crame for a medical check-up. “The plan is that when Alice Guo is turned over to them, she will be brought here to Camp Crame to undergo a medical examination to ensure she is in good physical condition before being handed over to the Senate, as there is an existing warrant from the Senate against her,” Fajardo explained during a press briefing.

Guo was apprehended by Indonesian authorities in Tangerang City early Wednesday morning. Abalos and Marbil arrived in Indonesia on Thursday morning to coordinate her return.

Alice Guo faces multiple complaints, including charges of human trafficking and money laundering. She reportedly left the Philippines in July, first traveling to Malaysia before her presence was confirmed in Indonesia.
