An ambulance and several motorcycles were issued violation tickets for using the EDSA busway at Santolan Station in Quezon City on Tuesday morning.

The Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) apprehended the ambulance driver, who was returning to Angono, Rizal, after transporting a patient to Quezon City. The incident was reported by James Agustin on Dobol B TV.

Other Violations:

  • Motorcycles: Within the first 15 minutes of the operation, enforcers apprehended eight motorcycles. Some riders claimed they were rushing to work, while others denied entering the busway lane.

Penalties Under MMDA Regulation No. 23-002:

  • First Offense: P5,000 fine.
  • Second Offense: P10,000 fine, one-month suspension of driver’s license, and a mandatory road safety seminar.
  • Third Offense: P20,000 fine and a one-year suspension of driver’s license.
  • Fourth Offense: P30,000 fine and a recommendation to the Land Transportation Office for license revocation.
