In a stunning display of grace and talent, Anna Valencia Lakrini, the celebrated Binibining Pilipinas, has solidified the Philippines’ standing as a pageant powerhouse on the international stage. At The Miss Globe 2023, held in Durres, Albania, Lakrini emerged as the second runner-up, extending the Philippines’ impressive consecutive placement streak in this prestigious event to nine years.
A Multi-Faceted Talent Shines Through
This German-Filipino model and nutrition graduate not only excelled in the main pageant but also showcased her diverse talents in other arenas. She claimed the first runner-up position in the “Miss Bikini” contest and was a top ten contender in the “Head-to-Head” challenge. Amidst these achievements, Lakrini also celebrated her 26th birthday in Albania, where she received a delightful surprise organized by her fellow delegates and the event organizers.
A Global Stage of Fierce Competition
The Miss Globe 2023 was a battleground for beauty and brains, with over 50 participants from around the world. Manvin Khera from Malaysia ultimately clinched the coveted crown, marking Malaysia’s first-ever victory in this competition. She was followed by first runner-up Katia Agbobo Rodriguez from Spain, third runner-up Duru Esther Chidera from Nigeria, and fourth runner-up Kristin Yvonne Bangs from the United States.
A Legacy of Philippine Triumphs
The Philippines’ remarkable journey in The Miss Globe began in 2015 with Ann Lorraine Colis winning the title. This achievement marked the start of an unbroken placement streak. Notably, Maureen Montagne was crowned in 2021, and other Filipino representatives have consistently achieved runner-up and semifinalist positions, asserting the Philippines as a dominant force in the pageant, on par with Albania.
