Actor Archie Alemania has formally denied the allegations of acts of lasciviousness filed against him by fellow actor Rita Daniela. He submitted a counter-affidavit at the Bacoor Hall of Justice on Tuesday as part of the ongoing preliminary investigation.
According to a report by Oscar Oida on 24 Oras, Alemania and his lawyer, Atty. Ameir Muksan, declined to provide any comments about the submission. However, the prosecutor confirmed that the counter-affidavit refutes Daniela’s claims.
Maintaining Distance
Daniela’s lawyer, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, attended the proceedings and emphasized the need to protect her client’s mental health.
“Victims of these crimes, or alleged victims, often undergo psychological trauma. As her counsel, I must safeguard her mental well-being. Both legal teams agree to avoid any interaction between Archie and Rita,” she said.
Abraham-Garduque added that Daniela remains emotionally affected by the situation and is “still not OK.”
Next Steps in the Case
Daniela is expected to submit her response to Alemania’s counter-affidavit by December 17, continuing the legal process.
This development follows Rita Daniela’s earlier complaint accusing Alemania of inappropriate behavior, including kissing and touching her without consent. Both parties have maintained their respective legal strategies while keeping public statements to a minimum.
