TAGAYTAY, Philippines — The 45th Asian Track Cycling Championships and the Asian Para Track Cycling event are currently in full swing at the Tagaytay City Velodrome, drawing nearly 600 elite cyclists from 16 countries to compete across multiple track disciplines.
Held from March 25 to 31, 2026, the continental tournament marks the return of one of Asia’s premier cycling competitions to the Philippines for the first time in over three decades. The last time the country hosted was in 1995 at the now‑closed Amoranto Velodrome in Quezon City.
The weeklong meet features a full slate of races, including sprints, keirin, individual and team pursuits, points races, and para track events—bringing both seasoned riders and rising talents to the brand‑new facility in Cavite.
While powerhouse nations such as Japan, China, and South Korea are expected to dominate the medal tally, local cycling officials say the primary goal for Philippine athletes is gaining exposure and experience against Asia’s best. PhilCycling leadership has underscored that realistic expectations for podium finishes will give way to strategic growth and development for future competitions.
The event not only spotlights top‑tier competitive racing but also underscores the growing prominence of track cycling in the region, with the Tagaytay CT Velodrome serving as a key venue for international and grassroots cycling activities in the years ahead.
