Legazpi City ––Philippine National Police Chief Dionardo Carlos ordered to put Bicol Aviation Security Group commander Police Col. Dulnaon Dinamling, Jr. in restrictive custody after hitting a non-commissioned police officer with a broken bottle on his eye that might have left him blind.
Dimanling was put in restrictive custody within the aviation group headquarters as Carlos ordered a thorough investigation against the top ranking PNP official in Bicol.
Carlos personally visited PMSG Ricky Brabante at the Regional Mobile Force Batallion on Sunday to check his condition after allegedly hit in the eye with a broken bottle by the ranking police official in Legazpi City.
Police report said that Brabante suffered a serious injury on the right eye that might cause loss of vision. Brabante underwent a major operation.
Due to this, Carlos ordered Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, Bicol police regional director to expedite the investigation of the case to be able to come up with a decision in the soonest possible time.
He vowed to render his decision according to the facts of the case.
“Wala akong sinasabing (I didn’t say) I will only take care of the high-ranking officers, as the father of the PNP I will take care of everybody even if you’re general or patrolman,” he said.
Though Carlos wants swift justice he reiterated the importance of listening to both parties involved. The country’s top cop also promised to extend assistance for Brabante’s medical needs.
“Iyon po ang ating gagawin, maalagaan ang ating mga personnel at kung may pagkakamali po ay ito po ang laging sinasabi ko na corrective care,” Carlos said.
Carlos added that the case must be treated as an isolated case as the act of one will not bring down the entire organization.
He also directed the men and women of Bicol PNP during his visit to continue and pursue the good work that they are supposed to deliver to the people.
