A barangay chairman in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte was fatally shot outside his home on Monday evening.
According to a report on Saksi, the victim was sitting in his garage when an unidentified suspect approached on a motorcycle and fired multiple shots. The gunman quickly fled the scene. The barangay official was rushed to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The victim’s family, while declining to comment, is calling for justice in his killing.
Authorities have formed a special task force to investigate the case. The town’s mayor has also offered a P300,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
