Barbie Forteza and David Licauco thrilled fans of their on-screen pairing, “BarDa,” during Friday’s episode of “Pulang Araw.” However, a behind-the-scenes story shared by Barbie adds an extra layer of charm to their romantic scene.
In the latest episode of the historical series, Hiroshi (played by David Licauco) visits Adelina (played by Barbie Forteza) at her home and confesses his love to her in Japanese. To show his affection, Hiroshi kisses Adelina, but their moment is abruptly interrupted when a furious Teresita (played by Sanya Lopez) catches them.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Barbie shared a lighthearted moment from the filming of the scene.
“While David and I were waiting for the ‘kiss’ to happen before Sanya enters the scene, I wasn’t sure whether I should close my eyes or keep them open because David was just staring at me with his eyes wide open. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!” Barbie wrote.
The Kapuso Primetime Princess continued, “I got a little flustered, just a tiny bit, hahaha!!!”
“Pulang Araw” follows the lives of four childhood friends—Adelina (Barbie), Teresita (Sanya), Hiroshi (David), and Eduardo (Alden)—as they navigate the complexities of love, friendship, and loyalty amid the backdrop of war and Japanese occupation in the Philippines. Their intertwined journeys are filled with challenges and moments of self-discovery and resilience.
